Walnut Spring Stables is proud to welcome trainer, Matthew Marshall. Matthew recently relocated to the New River Valley from Wellington, Florida. Matthew has been professionally training young horses since he was 18 years old. He has worked under numerous professional trainers throughout his career, including Francois Lemaire De Reffieu, a graduate of the elite Cadre Noir in France; Juan  Ledgard and Kevin Ester. In his 22 years of experience Matthew has learned a broad range of disciplines from polo to western pleasure, dressage to hunter jumpers. His students have earned mulitple high point championships, circuit championships and year end awards; in the dressage arena as well as on the hunter and western show circuits. Matthews personal favorite high-lights include Bridle-less demonstrations at the National Horse Show, Super Horse Challenge Champion, Dixie Rose Classic Circuit Champion, Spring Classic and Fall Classic All Around Champion, and the opportunity to ride the Gypsy King at the Equine Extravaganza.
Matthew is currently offering group and private lessons Tuesdays and Thursdays. Prices listed on our Lessons page. He also offers training rides for horses of any age, level and discipline. $30/ride.
